I'm a little late to this post, but I have 5 varieties of Dragonfruit that were given to me by a person in San Diego who was offering free cuttings. I've had them for years but I moved right as they got big enough to fruit and I started again with cuttings. Basically the plant has to have about 10 lbs of flesh in order to fruit and you can hand pollinate them with a paint brush. Also they're a cactus but they're a tropical cactus that like a lot of water. I didn't realize that at first so they had survived but not thrived. At my new place they don't get as much sun so I've only had one or two fruits, but I have a lot of actual cactus. If anyone ever wants a cutting in San Diego, let me know! |
