I am so retarded sometimes. I have never seen a lamp that didn't have a harp. The shade i found at target looks very tropical. it is a beige burlap with a rattan looking exoskeleton exposing the burlap. this particular shade does not use a harp, but fits under the bulb. i simply removed the harp that i thought i needed and voila! it fits perfectly. this is the first time i ever made anything, and am very surprised at the results, very professional looking. unfortunately, i don't have a digital camera yet, but i will post the pics as soon as i do. thanks again everyone for your guidance on making the lamp.
