Okay, I made some lamps this week for the Hapa Haole Hideaway. Sort of along Al and Shelley's plan. I had a 52 inch piece of tapa from the Hale Tiki build and I made two lamps from it. I got the 12 foot cord for lamps at Lowes, and a candelabra socket. With my trusty scroll saw I cut 2 circles with cross members and plain circles for the base. I used some glue and staples to attach the tapa to the circles. I threaded the wire into the hole I drilled in the cross member of the top and wired up the socket. I glued some tissue paper on the bottom until I get some tapa to cover it, and I am working on some hats for the top. I didn't use any top to bottom supports as this stuff is light and I didn't think it needed. I was going to nail some bamboo on it, but it was not needed.

I am now officially happy enough with the room to entertain guests.
