I've said it before, and now I'm going to say it again -- Fisherman's Trio is fanEFFINGtastic. We're terribly spoiled here in Southern California, but this is definitely one thing we're missing -- NYC is very lucky to have them. They're playing a few more shows here before Oasis, try to make it to one if you can. Even if you're going to get to see them at Oasis, trust me, it won't be enough! Soak up as much Fisherman as you can, because it'll have to last for a very, very long time -- who knows when they'll be back? From the Fisherman's Burlesque Trio website:
The Fisherman Trio's performance of the beautiful exotica classics would have been enough to make any of us very happy, but there was more than that -- a lovely hula honey/go-go dancer, and a few surprising song choices that, if performed by a lesser band, would have been cringe-inducing, but instead were rousing. The whole place was up on their feet, and I think a few folks were on chairs. And now, the pics:
Go-Go dancer, Mitzi Tart: This is our own tikidrummer, he was tikidrumming for most of the songs, but not this one:
Mrs. TikiPug & her great tank top: It was a percussion-heavy evening, with tikidrummer on drums, Fisherman on vibes, and Crazy Al on coconuts & other assorted thingamajigs: I can't quite explain what this was all about, but if you spend enough time with Tina & I, you'll get it: Fisherman put ants in our collective pants: Mitzi Tart came back out to hula for us: Sometimes, Doctor Z reminds me of someone, but I can never quite remember who...
