VA Beach is sorely lacking in "polynesiana," I'm afraid.

There was (still is?) a very small Naval Museum called the Tiki Tai down on Atlantic Ave. The owner/curator is a WW2 vet and I suspect that he spent some time in the south Pacific, hence the name.

Don't let the Mai Kai Resort's name get you excited.

If you're military or a DoD employee, Ft. Story has its semi-famous "tiki bar" on the beach at the Ft. Story Inn. Not really a tiki bar, but it serves booze and it's in the best location in the entire VA Beach area.

There's a good source of inexpensive pufferfish in all sizes, cheasy VA Beach tiki mugs, and assorted nautical bric-a-brac down on the southern end of the beach.

That's all I know of - if you find anything when you're down there, let us know!
