Both the Dead AND phish suck..completely!

The Dead specialized in lite-country, Jimmy Buffet style, but then they put a nonsensical avante-garde freak-out session mid-set...with no context!

So half the time you get lite-country, half the time you get space effects!!

I have never, ever understood people's fascination with the Dead..it's hippie..and don't forget it's the hippies (led by john Lennon) that killed off Tiki music in this country!

If I want country, it's chet atkins, bob wills, Merle haggard, hell..even Junior Brown!

If you want Avante-garde its Eno and King Crimson!!

But the Dead? or Phish even? Bunch of damn trust- fund -rich -self-satisfied- hippies would like them...but not me! Give me something with some soul, some class, some pizzazz..something I can drink a Martini while listening to!

That's my rant for the day! Hippie and Tiki don't go together. Period!
