Well it's official. The Ralph's Supermarket in my neighborhood began playing Christmas music on October 1st. I so pity the employees working there. In highschool, I worked for three years at Stats Floral Supply - A store that specialized in Christmas decorations. We started playing Christmas music and sellin Christmas goods on November 1st. That store sapped all the Christmas Spirit and Christmas Magic right out of my soul and it took ten years after I quit to get it back again. I guess I will be avoiding Ralph's for the next two and a half months. Sabu The Candycane Boy. |

This is the third time in as many days that I've heard about Ralph's playing Christmas music already. I haven't been shopping in a couple weeks, but I may go just so that I can walk in, look shocked, lodge a complaint with the manager, and walk out indignantly. I don't get to do enough things indignantly. |

Macy's opened it's "Holiday Lane" store on Union Square in AUGUST. Also, I have neighbors who never take down their holiday decorations. Yikes! |

I went into Target a few weeks ago and was happy to see they were just putting up Halloween decorations for sale. I was not so happy to see that the X-mas decorations were already there! |

Not only did Ralphs start with Christmas on October 1st, they advertized that they would for 2 weeks beforehand! What about the rest of the Kroger Stores family, anyone in the rest of the country suffering along with us in SoCal? Also, for never ending Christmas Hell: Big Lots/Odd Lots Christmas display gets updated every couple months, but it never, ever goes away... |

Yeah, the Ralph's in my neighborhood is so far ahead of the game that I found out they're not even playing Christmas music for 2004, but 2005 already. (I bet Jesus is spinning in his grave, or tomb, or whatever...) |

I'm happy to report that the Dillon's stores (owned by Kroger) in my area haven't jumped on the Christmas sleigh yet. |

Well, my Ralph's hasn't stopped playing their Christmas music from 2003.:) When you start hearing the phrase "This Holiday Season", it's all downhill after that. |

Join the club! I've been slaving away on Christmas orders since the beginning of JULY. One year I even got a huge Christmas order in February. I'm not so anti-Christmas as I had been in the past since I've learned to pace myself over the years to prepare for it all. At one point, I would tape the radio in the summer so I could listen to Christmas free radio and not be reminded of my deadline. |

For years I really hated Christmas...I hate religion, and all the crap that goes with it being forced down my neck (Must be from years of Art History)... a few years ago, I just went WITH it. One year I locked a large plastic Frosty and Santa in my truck with maps, porn and empty booze bottles in on the dash and cab...as if they had taken a surprize nap on a wild spree Another year I made my Bob's Big Boy into an Angel, and put a Present on his plate where the Hamburger was. I also made a white trash nativity, with Joseph and Mary made of pink flamingos, a pink egg in a manger, and three wise birds (plastic owls) with gifts...I think they might have had an airline booze bottle or two as well. It's all about being more vulgar than the people who offend you. Go to Ralphs and sing along..with a Bullhorn..sans pantaloon...you get the picture. [ Edited by: Gigantalope on 2004-10-09 10:13 ] |

At the SF Hall of Justice (home of criminal court, the police department, and jail) they put holiday decorations in the windows so they can be seen by people driving by on the freeway. The decorations include a life-size Santa that lights up, which makes me think that Santa's in JAIL!! |

Just so long as they don't play whatever music it is they play for postal employees, eh? Actually, I'm amazed that anybody can recognize what gets played at Ralph's at all! |
