Beachcomber Bar Mexico

Aloha everyone, I recently picked up a napkin from the "Beachcomber Bar" in Ensenada B.C. Mexico. Looks like the guys in the illustration are having a swell time.
Somehow I can't help but wonder what the place was really like?

I wonder how many men would have seen that picture and make the trec down there expecting this "paradise".

So which guy gets all the action? The well-dressed, suave guy on the right, or the fat slob with the beat-up straw hat?

Rumballs,the guy on the left USED to look like the stud on the right-he's just stayed too long in paradise,apparently.Beware of demon rum!

What's the guy on the right doin' with his hands? Holding a drink I presume...

Looks like a young Elvis......checkin his fly? This place was a Hotel/Casino opened in 1929 by boxer Jack Dempsey (with alleged backing from Capone). Fell into decline in 1933 and eventually closed. Restored and re-opened in 1977 as the Civic & Cultural center of Ensenada.
