Beachcomber Bar Mexico

Pages: 1 11 replies

Aloha everyone, I recently picked up a napkin from the "Beachcomber Bar" in Ensenada B.C. Mexico. Looks like the guys in the illustration are having a swell time.
Somehow I can't help but wonder what the place was really like?

Bosko

Oh ya, I'm sure it was just like that.
I wonder how many men would have seen that picture and make the trec down there expecting this "paradise".

RB

So which guy gets all the action? The well-dressed, suave guy on the right, or the fat slob with the beat-up straw hat?

D

Rumballs, the guy on the left USED to look like the stud on the right-he's just stayed too long in paradise, apparently.Beware of demon rum!

RB

Oooh, good point...that could be "before" and "after" shots of me.

SWELL TIME INDEED ! Whass up B?

What's the guy on the right doin' with his hands? Holding a drink I presume...

Looks like a young Elvis......checkin his fly? This place was a Hotel/Casino opened in 1929 by boxer Jack Dempsey (with alleged backing from Capone). Fell into decline in 1933 and eventually closed. Restored and re-opened in 1977 as the Civic & Cultural center of Ensenada.

yo quiero chi chi's...
