hello everyone: i've been lurking on these boards on and off and have been i picked up the famous belgium peeing boy statue what do you think? any advice? according to my math, it will hold a little over 500 gallons of water. the walls are about 18 inches tall and are brick, but i am looking to finish them the back wall is going to be a 'wall of water' and the boy will be thanks again for this great forum and i look forward to your advice. thanks for looking michele v here is the link to the pictures. i hope it works. |

The pond idea sounds tops. Placing plants around the edges of the water softens the edges and gives it a more natural feel. This will also give it a 'wild' kinda feel if that is how you want to go. Lighting can also be used to great effect. An underwater spotlight will light up the boys stream and the boy as well. This or down lights for the wall of water would work too. Place the pickup for the little boy at the opposite end of the pond to make sure the water circulates. Also make sure you get a pump with an inbuilt filter. You could go a full biological filter, but that is probably overboard for that size pond. Most pumps come with an inbuilt filter that is good enough. Fish work well in a pond too.Bright fish get eaten by birds, but you cant see black fish, which defeats the purpose...You can put wire over it but that is real ugly. |

cool- thanks for the advice. it's definately going to have colored lights that are submerged and also some landscape lighting. i wanted the pond to be above ground I am looking for a source of some fishing thanks for the advice. michele. |
