Hiya Hanford,
Will be doing some Xmas shopping...I gots a young nephew that just NEEDS a Tiki Central shirt. I like the traditional TC logo, but the first design by "astrolabs" is pretty good too.

If only a few $$$ go to TC operations it's better than nada.

Everybody pony up!

Oh wow, that was a strange experience. My drum and bugle corps and Tiki Central BOTH open merchandise stores at CafeShops on the SAME DAY! I thought I had entered the twilight zone there for a second.

Here's the proof...

Is Cafeshops having a special or something? Or is this one of those strange cosmic entrainment things?

Bump

that's brilliant, Hanford! I'm saving money like mad for a month or so but will then let rip. It would be nice to see some non-white items eventually (NOT my colour, dahlink...).

I'm not fully familiar with CafeShops, but looking at the site (along with Tiki Kings Cafeshop), are they (Cafeshops) basically taking logos and applying them to merchandise?
I'll get a few items in order to support Tiki Central, but with the wealth of sources for tiki-related ceramics, bamboo art & carvings (Holden, Bamboo Ben, Gecko, Crazy Al, Keigs, ChikiTiki etc...), will we see some really unique items available? Hec, even the stickers TraderPup did for The Bash were really cool.

Just my 2 coconuts worth...

Few things:

  1. Yeah CafePress handles the creation order-taking and shipping of everything. It's their items and our art.

  2. We will be adding stuff and offering different stuff over time. Cafe Press is the quickest and easiest though, so it's the first.

  3. As I said in the welcome message: Buy it becuase you want it, not becuase you want to give money to Tiki Central. We only make a few dollars off each item. If you don't like the items or don't feel they're unique enough, don't get 'em. I won't be bothered or offended :)

  4. Yeah, the stickers at the Bash were cool; And I'm not sure if you noticed but whe have postcards here.

Yeah, this was a pretty big request that some people mailed me when I originally asked for comments. But CafePress only does white shirts.

So just to let everyone know: CafePress makes the shirts AS YOU ORDER THEM so we don't have to guess at what the demand will be, and we don't need to pre-order or put any money down. This is why I'm using them now.

For non-cafe-press items, the quality, the time it takes to make, and the uniqueness will all be much more than what you're seeing in the store right now. But I have not time-frame on that.

Keep the questions comin!

For what it's worth, I can vouch for the quality of Cafe Press' work - the division I was heading up set up a Cafe Press store and the items I ordered for client gifts (Coffe Mug, Long Sleeve T-Shirt and Tank Top) were good quality and well printed. The mug is dishwasher safe (Mine's been through dozens of washings), and the shirt designs are (so far) color safe...
