I lured mr. pineapple to marriage with my key lime pie. One bite and it was all over. The key to flaky crust is frozen crisco! My granma taught me! (although, for the KLP, I use a graham cracker crust) I'll make a pie to submit for membership in this exclusive club. mrs. pineapple |

I don't need to think it over, I'll give you my answer right now... the answer is no ... NO! You sit around here and spin your little crusts and you think the whole world revolves around pie. Well I got news for you: it doesn't! -Z And that goes for YOU too. |

Mary Ann's FamousCoconut Cream Pie 3 egg yolks In the top of a double boiler over simmering water, beat the egg yolks and salt. Add the sugar, milk and butter. As soon as the bottom pot boils, mix the cornstarch with a small amount of water. Add it to the egg yolk mixture a little at a time. Cook until thick, stirring constantly with a wire whisk. Add the coconut and vanilla. Pour the filling into a baked pie shell. Beat the egg whites with a small amount of sugar and spread the meringue over the pie. Sprinkle coconut on top and toast in the oven. |

Damn right:
WTF!?! There's secret pie society and this is the first I hear of it? Can someone send me an unsolicited email about these things, I cannot keep up with all the goings on (going ons?) around these parts. One question, err, ummm, well, there's none of those "type" allowed, are there? You know, uhh, that sort of folk, those kind... that like cheese on their pie. No cheese-ers! Not that there's anything wrong with them, I have some "pie with cheese" friends. I just don't want to, ya know, "mix" with them. midnite |

Here's a great location for our Secret Pie meetings that are so secret that we cannot reveal the schedule, even to ourselves! None other than the House of Pies coffee shop! Already adorned with a palm tree, and tropical plants! There used to be a chain of these in SoCal, and they had orange and pink decor, and as I recall, they were always in cute little A-frame buidlings, thus the tiki connection to PIE. |

The first rule about Pie Club is that you DON'T TALK ABOUT PIE CLUB! But... since you've already talked about Pie Club, will there be events? Maybe a Pie eating contests? We could call it "puk-ilau." |
