This is my tree hugger post. I've seen alot of people posting stuff from found objects and thought this could be a good thread. Post the stuff you've made from from other people's "trash". The tiki is made from a piece of maple that use to be a shotgun stock. It still needs a clear coat put on it, but the wood is beautiful. The pineapple is made from - get this - deer antler. It was done on a lathe and finished with the dremel. |

Wow, those look great! I'm really diggin' that style nose. How hard was the antler? Do you still have that clay piece that you wanted to be fired? Shoot me a PM and let me know. Great stuff as always. |

YYK - the deer antler is VERY hard. To turn that stuff on a lathe was exhausting and the smell of burnt hair filled the air. I heard about using the stuff from a woodworking club. The pen I made from it was beautiful, it looked just like Ivory (sorry no pics). TeaKey - The rest of the stock is being made into other things - pics to come. |
