Outdoor Tiki Bar Frame - Canada

Pages: 1 1 replies

JG

Hello,
I want to build an outdoor tiki bar that I can bring inside. I live in Toronto where our summers can get very hot, but some years we get a lot of rainfall. What do you recommend I make the frame out of? I can easily get bamboo of all sizes. Should I use bamboo for the frame...is that a good idea or would I be better off using deck wood?

Thanks.

M

First of all, welcome to the board!

Bamboo doesn't offer framing ease due to it's irregular dimensions. I personally, would use either 1" X 1" framing or 2" X 4" framing with some heavy duty casters underneath for transport in and outside. The frame can be easily hidden by Bamboo and other materials once the frame is well established. Just my take. I'm sure others will dive in that have far greater experience than I. Welcome again!

Mahalo!
