I finally got a new car (after owning my first ever car for 14 years!). Now that I've got it I want to tiki-fy it out. Anyone out there that knows of stores (Chicago area) or websites, catalogs to purchase items such as car mats, etc with the tiki theme? |

take your favorite tiki patterns to a large format print house and have them do a vehicle "wrap". it'll last a few years and you'll be the talk of the village! |

You need a Bamboo Ben Custom Tropical Decor bumper sticker. It's like a CHP repeller  |

You're likely to get one on your car whether you want it or not, if you bring your car to Oasis! |

This site http://www.hulaframes.com/ makes license plate frams with hula girls on it. (I think what they actually do is take the chrome license plate that has the two girls on it and pain them and put a skirt on, but its still pretty cool). |

Does anyone know any other companies that have put out custom tiki car enhancements? I'm going to order the door locks from moon eyes and possibly the shifter knob (do you think it will fit on an automatic shifer?) I'm also looking for tiki valve covers. I may have to make those. I read somewhere how to make some out of bake-able clay. Oh my wahine got a "fat kahuna" wobbler from my sister when she went to the islands. Anyone know how I can get a "fat wahine" for my side of the dash board? My Tiki Lounge http://unklejohn.suddenlaunch.com/index.cgi [ Edited by: Unkle John 2005-07-22 16:02 ] |

Depending on what kind o' car you have, I have these hitch covers from Hula Hitch (or you can go to them direct) for the back...if you don't have any type of SUV, you can always use a decal!!! Just click on the image on the right of the page under "Featured Items" http://www.coconutkissgifts.com/ I have one of the hula girl license frames that I will be posting on Ebay soon. I got it as an Xmas gift but never used it. Brand new...decided to custom make one from wood for my business. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions! (email me at [email protected]) |

That hitch cover looks cool, but I have a ball hitch on my truck. My question was about a 1970 Impala I plan on buying in the future. Not saying your post didn't give any info, it did! I should have stated the car in my first post. (I assume you knew about my truck is the reason you mentioned that, unless it was directed to the originator of this thread) |

Ive always thought my folks Fijian cannibal fork would make a nice shifter :) Go onto ebay and search for "tiki sticker", there are usually heaps of shag stickers available. Got to give it a cool name too, can't just be a car. I love the old WWII pinups as inspiriration, but thats just me. Something like "tiki wagon","pacific dreamin'" etc. |

AlohaStation, I scoured the Target & Walmart sites today and came up zip. I like the product as described here and would like to purchase a pair of black buckets for my '95 Mustang but I feel better about getting them from a local outlet as opposed to on-line. |

This subject of car decor got me hooked on mid century tiki almost 6 years ago. I imagined a tiki that you could put on your dash board, that either wobbled at the waist, eyes lit up, or it could hold a glade plug-in, or all. I thought I could call it Dash Dietys. Although, I never pursued that, you can tell from my website http://www.tikitony.com that I've been obsessed ever since. Well, here's a link to purchase on of my hand carved from drift wood tiki necklaces: |

I am working on a very small battery powered lighted puffer fish you can hang from your rear view mirror. You'll need that. |

Hi All, I am looking for the maker or source of a 2" or 3" tall sticker that my son't girlfriend brought back from the Islands. It was a white tiki sticker silhouette of I think KU. Does anyone know where these may be found online? The name Tiki Toes comes to mind but I cannot be sure. I want them for the back window of my 'Yota and to put on my Fluke. I have already google'd and ebay'd for them. Lots of SHAG (very cool art BTW) there but it's not what I'm looking for. Any help would be great. [ Edited by: neon.martini64 2005-08-10 16:44 ] |

BTW, every second car owned by a female between the ages of 16 and 30 has a lei in it around here. In protest I proudly display my Tiki Tony Cannibal from the rear view mirror. |

Don't take it the wrong way, I love leis in cars! I just can't do it around here, unless its a lei made with shrunken skulls. People here do it because it's trendy, and I'm not too fond of trendy. In fact, I'm kinda jealous of your car lei :) |

My wife got this from my sister from her trip to the islands: http://www.chillystuff.com/breddahudo.html She told me there was a "hefty" wahine as well, but the only one and the package was open. She got it from one of the ABC stores. I checked their site and they don't seem to have either one listed. Anyone on the islands know if they still carry them? |

I just recently bought some tiki clings on ebay for my house windows. Maybe you could put them on your car windows. They may be too big tho, they're 10" high. Just put tiki clings in search on ebay and check them out. There's also tiki stick shift knobs. I saw them when I was searching for tiki dresser drawer knobs. Can't wait to see what you do to your car. I'm sure it will be tiki-rific! |
