Boomerang pattern fabric?

Pages: 1 6 replies

Does anyone know of a fabric printed in the classic boomerang (Formica company's "Skylark") pattern?
I've done a TC search and found http://www.reprodepot.com/fabfif.html in another thread; they have something close, but no cigar. This is the sort of pattern I'm hoping to find; any color would do as long as the boomerangs are no larger than they are on an actual piece of formica (about 1"):

I saw a tie once that was a dead ringer for the formica pattern, and I've seen it as a drinking glass pattern for a museum gift shop, so I'm hoping fabric exists. Thanks!

i'm betting Tikiwahine can help you with your search, she's the fabric maven!

Unfortunately, the Satin Moon Quilt Shop has nothing even remotely boomerang-esque. However, I'll have a look online and see if I can find something for you.

UPDATE I've e-mailed a request to over 900 shops in North America, with any luck we'll get a response!

... fire up illustrator & photoshop and design it yourself... the world of dye sublimation (solvent printing, too)is wide open... you can print your own fabrics as short run as you want... silks, polyesters, chenilles... lots of fabrics are are available... just find a dye sub printer.. best buy banner 800.624.1691 - riverside, ca for one... or call fisher textiles at 704-821-8870...

Wow! Thanks for the response, guys!

Hope you were able to find the fabric you were looking for. I have shopped here before and the service was great. http://www.barkclothhawaii.com/index.htm

You might find some interesting stuff here if looking for retro-fabrics. Click on the fabric link and they do have some very nice reproduction boomerang, atomic & tiki patterns.
