H

Does anyone have any info on this drink and the mug it comes in, and how to make it. It is in The Book Of Tiki page 163 on the menu from the Islander.

There's a mention of the mug Here, you can order one at the Tiki Ti, and I found several versions of the recipe online:
From Wray & Nephews

Cobra's Fang
15ml Appleton Extra
15ml Wray and Nephew Overproof
15ml falernum
15ml lime juice
15ml orange juice
1 dash Angostura bitters/grenadine
blend all ingredients and serve in a hurricane glass

From LavaRay

Sure there are variations, but mine is the best! 1.5 oz of each non-liquor item, 1 shot of each rum and 3 oz of club soda.

Lime Juice, Orange Juice, Passion Fruit Syrup, Club Soda, Meyers Dark rum, 151 Rum, and Jamaican Gold Rum served over crushed ice. Served in a pilsner glass with a straw and an umbrella.

Don the Beachcomber's book says a Cobra's Fang is:
0.5 oz lime juice
0.5 oz Falernum
0.5 oz orange juice
0.25 oz Fassionola
0.5 Jamaica Dark rum
0.5 Lemon Hart Demerara 151 Rum
1 dash Angostura bitter
1 dash grenadine
1 dash selected herbs

The book suggests Myers's Original dark rum as a substitute for the Jamaica dark rum, I suggest Pat O'Brians Hurricane mix or a Passion fruit syrup/lime juice mixture as substitutes for Fassionola if you can not find it.

Here is a picture from the Tiki-Ti Website showing you how they serve the Cobras Fang.

Hmmmmm, a Semi-Sweet Dink.....

What about the "selected herbs" from the DTB's recipe?...should those be from the garden or the bong?

H

And exactly who gets to select these herbs?
