I know some of you are immediately gonna to say, "How corny is this!?
But I think Id like to have one.
Maybe get a discount with it for a drink at a Tiki bar, or maybe get in to a special Tiki party with it?
I'm even willing to pay few bucks for it.
Hanfords thinkin', "Great Unga, thanks for opening this can of worms". :D
I don't know. What do you TCers think?

Damn, after a quick search that one and only crazy Bamboo Ben (jokingly) beat me to the chase.
But I still like the idea!

Ah, yes! All members MUST wear their fez at all TC gatherings! Hmmm . . A TC fez-design contest, maybe? Can our hearts take the suspense?

PLUS: We must have a 8X10 TIKI CENTRAL membership certificate, with cool graphics and a funny motto, to frame and hang up at your desk!

Ya, I can see where this is goin.
I guess it was my liver talkin,(late at night, mind you) about getting a discount at Tiki bars.
I totally forgot about the Mai Kai membership card. One bartender told me it actually attracted a lot more business.
I guess I'll apply for the Forbidden Island card (hint)

MrsSmiley, I thought my mom was kidding me about this story. But a few years ago while at the Smithsonian, looking at the Space and Moon exhibit, there was an "Official Turtle Club" card on display and the story of an astronaut asking "Are you a turtle today?"
I found the full story here:
http://www.astronautix.com/flights/merryma8.htm
They have some pretty funny stories on that site about all the space missions.

TikiTikiTavi posted on 01/20/2006

How would the tiki handshake by Onatiki be used to greet another member?

Here's my list of card-carrying member benefits that would be fun to see:

  1. The card (obvious)
  2. Special Fez (already mentioned)
  3. Small scale TC action figures complete with miniature Tiki Bar for those times when you can't make it to the genuine events.
  4. TC decoder ring for those times when you are too drunk to figure out the abreviations on the forum.
  5. Special private label TC rum available only to card carrying members.

TTT :)

Bah! To all of the above! Yer just copying other people's ideas!

Here's something unique and cheap: Tiki Central underwear tags. You sew them onto the back of yer underwears (just like going to camp) and then each meetin' of the TC peoples begins with a quick yank and a membership check.

Think of the curiosity and awe that would inspire among the Ordinaries

What about an official Tiki Central drink of mystery? To only be served out of the official TC mug that maybe judged soon...

Here's idea: Tiki Central needs to make a members card (business card type) with some gold leafing. Ok, now when people like Wrongdimensionboy come for their mug (one per custermer) you can check them off your list. Stamp their passport.

An idea I had for Slacks and his one per customer rule for selling his mugs out of his house.
