That is Emeryville Vic's Even Thirsty Thursday night; my favorite night to hang out with the bartender, Roberto. Hmm, decisions, decisions. Count me in as a slight possibility!

To answer Hula Hula's question, on lodging options in Alameda:

The best choice is the Coral Reef Inn. It's a block from the beach (there is a beach fronting the bay in Alameda) and it's on the main street in Alameda, Park Street, with lots of good places to eat within walking distance, plus there's a big shopping center across the street, and a bowling alley next door. Rooms start at around $80, and some have lagoon views. It also is a bit Polynesian in style. It is not within walking distance of Forbidden Island but it's a short cab ride.

Coral Reef Hotel and Suites
400 Park St, Alameda, CA 94501

Another option that is closer to the bar is the Marina Village Inn, but it may be more expensive.

Closest to the bar are a Days Inn, and a Hawthorn Inn, both on Webster. Webster is a fine street in the day, but at night the bars and many liquor stores attract some seedy characters, so I would avoid hanging out there for long at night.

Day's Inn

Hawthorn Suites Ltd

There are also a couple of B&Bs in Alameda.

Garratt Mansion

Webster House Bed & Breakfast Restaurant & Tea House
1238 Versailles Ave, Alameda, CA 94501

Thanks for that info, el Jabbo!

Yes, the great public grand opening will be April 22nd. We'll probably be open all day to handle the crowds. Not that we're all that, just that we're small!

Hey Hula! Hula!

Wuzzzzzzzup!!? (hermit?!)

If those places are "Not Da Kine" there should be a futon hiding somewhere in the bar...

Wish I could be in the Bay Area but, I'll be at the Kon Tiki. Can't wait to see the finished product!!!

p.s. Chris Rocks!!
