Just found the first Lilo & Stitch merchandise that's kinda neat: A Spin Pop Candy with Lilo mounted against a Tiki of OK design (and NOT garishly painted). You push the button to spin the lollypop and Lilo wiggles her hula skirt...(these spin pops are the ultimate in decadent waste of material and energy, really).
The first in many products to come...
Anybody noticed how much Stitch, for a Disney character, resembles Pokemon figures?

At the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood they're showing the movie and next door is a "Hawaiian Beach Party" They are also having a showing of Elvis stuff on loan from Graceland.

Disney store haas lots of cute stuff, but I don't know if I'd sit through it.

I did see a cool item (and that is why I mention this) - it was a large snow globe with a Lilo and Stich in a hammock and had little tiki torches.

Someone told me they saw one with a little wooden tiki in it as well...this may have had one and I missed it. As aoon as I saw the $125.00 price tag, I gently put it down. I was actually behind one of their counters to look at it in the first place.

It was cute...but I'll wait for it to show up at the outlet store in Pigeon Forge or something.

If you ever watch the Lilo & Stitch series on the Disney Channel, they have Tikis in just about every episode. I even have seen episodes where they have a Tiki Shop as the backdrop. Why do I know so much about this? I have a 2 year old who likes the show. Okay, okay but he makes for a convenient excuse.

I try to catch the cartoon on Saturday mornings if i wake up in time. I remember seeing one episode (I think it was a christmas one) where Lilo's older sister went to this open mall and asked a vendor if he had a shrunken head. He said something like "That's not Polynesian... it's South American." I thought it was funny that they went out of their way to mention that in a kids cartoon. But I guess that's good they did.

Cute story: My sister went to Hawaii for her honeymoon last year or so and my niece asked her if she would look for Stitch. Well she called my parents to check on the kids and Valerie asked if she had seen him yet. My sister told her that she thought she saw him trying to eat a surfboard, but wasn't sure. The next day she went to a Disney store there on the island I got a picture of herslef holding a Stitch doll. when she got home she showed her daughter the picture and said that she couldn't bring him home because he tried to eat the plane and she had to let him go home because he was being bad.

Please tell me that your niece was 3 years old! I'd hate to think she was a teenager!

I love Lilo and Stitch. I say I am Lilo and my youngest grandson is Stitch, however he doesn't like that very much.

I know Disney's been aggressively mining its animated history for live-action films, but dang, Lilo & Stitch seems way to recent for such treatment. Can a live-action Moana be far behind?
