Find out what? Those are just silly sounding robo-tiki names...right? MOMMY!!!

Tying together a ship-going theme with the beach:

Flotsam and Jetsam

(Just in case some are not familiar with the definitions: jetsam has been voluntarily cast into the sea (jettisoned) by the crew of a ship, usually in order to lighten it in an emergency while flotsam describes goods that are floating on the water without having been thrown in deliberately, often after a shipwreck. Doesn't mean I don't think these are fine fellows.)

Couple ideas:

Klaatu and Nikto-Homage to the Sci-Fi classic "Day the Earth Stood Still". Barada could be sold as a special edition at a later date. Maybe inspired by the classic Metropolis robot?

or

Klaatu (or Nikto) and Sputnik-One references classic Sci-Fi, the other references the first satellite. By the way, the mug with the rounded head would work for Sputnik since the satellite was a similar shape.

I like the above one very much. You know the two astronauts that he is talking about easily and yet they are changed just enough to have a drink drunk connection. Very clever and aren't those the only astronauts that we all know anyways.

Was a winner announced?

ROBBY THE ROBOT & Gilligan or Gillican

Gilligan or Gillican & The professer or the Skipper

Thurston & Lovey Oh, just ship it with a Lei

The Mosquitoes, Bingo, Bango, Bongo or Irving (sang the Gilligan's island theme song KINDA Faux Band)any 2 will do.

Bob & Alan

Okay, this one was a little easier. There's an absolute clear-cut winning entry and the race for runner's up was tight. Here are the results...

1st Runner-Up: "Kutron & Marquesoid" by Tikigreg
3rd Place: "The Apollonesians" by Snackbar
4th Place: "Neil & Buzz" by Cammo

Honorable mention to Uncle Trav for a bunch of good ones.

Cheers & please pm me with your complete shipping info. Cheeky - these are anticipated for availability in late January so hang tight for your set!

Hey Holden, that new Ultimate Luau Tunes Tiki Mug design by Doug Horne (sculpted by Squid, I'm sure) is my favorite in your line-up so far. Nice looking modern mug. Flounder's new space mugs are great as well, but as tiki goes, the Luau Tunes is the Katz PJ's. Nice work over there. They're all hits.

Oh, and nice choice with the names. It must have been tough to pick.

Thanks Holden, can't wait to get them, Pmed you my shipping details.

S

Woohoo! I won a prize!

Excellent choices! Way to go Cheekz!!!
