Advice for a home bar?

Pages: 1 2 49 replies

M

My wife and I came across some great black plastic tiki heads at OSH (Orchard Supply and Hardware). A little plastic primer and some stone paint and they look like the real thing. They also had some great concrete tikis that we snatched up. If you have an OSH near you check them out.

On another note, canvas painter's drop cloths can make a great way to cover an ugly fence in advance of hanging nets and other tiki realia.

We don't have an OSH near us, but I'll keep looking. I'm also looking for a bunch of bamboo, since the bar itself is nearly complete (so now it's on to the rest of the basement: flooring and walls).

As for the bar itself, it's 42 inches high with an 11-inch overhang. I'd like to get a footrest, but I think to keep with the theme I'm going to go for a hefty piece of bamboo, maybe 3-inch bamboo, rather than your typical old footrest.

I've been behind in posting photos. More to come (I'll try tonight).
