March 10th is a go for Psycho Tiki D and we are all looking forward to meeting new TCer's from around the area, both from before and those new folks we have seen post lately. Thanks to the Vamp for putting this together and let's all support another Nor Cal function. Psycho Tiki D (I know I am and I look forward to meeting you soon)! |

OK...made a Mai Tai for myself...used the Grog Log and substituted a little more Orgeat for the missing Rock Candy (which I should get in the mail next week). I am not a rum enthusiast as it gives me a headache, but must say it tasted very good. Headache on board now, so I will wait and make myself a good Pina Colada tomorrow. I am more of a Gin gal, so will have other options available too. Is anyone into Mojitoas....I saw a really nice kit at BevMo I could get? If anyone wants something in particular for a special drink, please pm me. I will also have sodas and juice for folks. |

Thanks for the invite and directions. Wow, you are out there! I would like to attend but I am vehicularly challenged. We don't use cars much in Prague; public transport gets us to the Taky Tiki bar 24/7! I would like to check out the scene and mingle, but also shop the garage wares for our lil Prague tiki bar. If anyone wants to carpool from Sacramento to Lincoln/Rocklin (Vamp's luau) please let me know and I'd be grateful and also chip in for gas. Pls pm me if anyone wants to help a praguelodyte out to the shindig. Thanks! --praguelodyte |

We wish we could pick up praguelodyte! Not only do I love meeting new people in the Tiki scene but it's so much fun to hear about how Tiki, aka Polynesian Pop, is viewed in other countries! Unfortunately for us the Tiki Cruiser had TWO flat tires and we're currently ordering new tires and wheels for it to make our long travels safer and more comfortable! Anyone need 18" Chrome Rims for their PT Cruiser? This means we've borrowed my father's pick up truck, no cab space, less tiki, but on a bright side we are going to bring some 4 FOOT tall Carved Tiki with us, we can also arrange some delivery to people within range. FINALLY THE PARTY'S ON!!! :drink: |

what a gig!!!!!!!!...wow Marlene knows how to throw a party....great drinks, great food....AND GREAT PEOPLE!!!!.....I am so happy to know the Sacramento Valley has such great Tiki Folk....I even got some items from Dr. Tiki Mojo. I now only need about 2,386 more items to be included in the same sentence as many of you...but then again do we really want to ''share a sentence''?!?!?!?!....seriously this party was sooo damm fun. I finally met Dan....just when you think you've seen it all...you see a video (from TV) that showcases his collection.......and we had people from Florida and Prague there...give me a break......WOW....Tiki Royalty....but WAIT it get's better...The guy from Florida (McTiki) gives the guy from Prague a ride!!!!!!......Thanks so much Marlene...those Mai Tais were dead on and your hospitality was off the chart......I think the only reason I am still sitting upright is that I left early?!?!?!?!?!?...What a great group of People.....This board has done it again!!!!!!....now to go watch ''COPS'' (on Tivo) and make sure I'm not on it!!!!!!!!.......... I heard a rumor of another gathering in May (getting a felt tip pen to circle the calender). |

Thanks to Dr.TikiMojo and Eva for setting up a great marketplace for all of us shoppers. Kudos to Praguelodyte for taking pictures....will get them posted later this week (promise). Thanks to everyone for bringing goodies and making the party to fun for all of us. NorCal Ohana you are awsome!!! I am looking at Saturday, June 2nd for the next party. Mrs. Mojo and I must second that! Marlene's place was BEAUTIFUL! And what a host she was, the house, the decor, the food, the drinks!! ** MAHALO PLENTY MARLENE! ** :D The TIKI HUNTER pair got off to a bumpy start...after some tire issues with the Tiki Cruiser we made the best of things with a borrowed pick up truck, (into which we loaded nearly a dozen Carved Tiki that we wanted to unload!), sold the 2 biggest and a couple of 3 foot tall Tiki Masks, had great support from the FABULOUS SACRAMENTO CROWD and closed out the wee hours of the night delivering Tikis to their new happy homes for much good MOJO and capped it off with a late night meal at Denny's, (what else is open at midnight?), we arrived home before 2 AM, (then had to move the clocks ahead to 3 AM DOUH!!~). Again, thank you everyone! |

I am really looking forward to getting the pictures from Proglodyte (who has promised to airbrush a few pounds off of me...LOL). Great weather today too. Just got finished playing cards with the gals. Checking out my cocktail books and planning on making Pina Coladas, Mojitos and of course the Mai Tais for the next shindig!! :) |

First and foremost an extremely huge "thank you" is extended to our hostess for this festivity! Vamp's house was immaculate and tastefully decorated both with tiki and Egyptian motifs and exuded a very warm and welcoming environment. It was great to see everyone, both from our last get together and the new faces never before seen. Drinks were good and strong and the conversation flowed throughout the day. I was very happy finally meet Vamp, Dan and Wendy, McTiki, Praugelodyte, Brenda and her husband and see some old faces; Moondog, Aloha Current, Dr. Tiki Mojo and wife and meet Vamp's friends. We gave Praguelodyte a couple of Mr. Peanut mugs for his bar and asked him to contact us before he leaves so we can hook up with him. My friend Kevin and I purchased some large tiki carvings from Dr. Tiki Mojo (4), as well as three of the Gecko carved necklaces and since we came in our Honda Civic, Dr Tiki Mojo made a late night delivery to our house and we gave him a brief tour of part of my collection (tomorrow is finally the day our hardwood floor is being installed in the living room). More chatting with Dr. Tiki Mojo and they were on their way!. I ran into Bo at the antique show yesterday under the freeway...he is not on the internet and we need to make sure we call and let him know about the events...he would have liked to attend and I will make sure to call him for the next one! We had a great time and as always look forward to the next get together. Thanks again Vamp! Psycho Tiki D (I know I am and I had a great time)! |

Thanks Marlene and everyone who made me feel welcome--even though I arrived in a Walmart Hawaiian shirt and have no mug collection to speak of! Thanks to the people who contributed to our little Tiki Bar in Prague. I am very grateful for the mugs and party favors which will be proudly displayed In Taky Tiki. If any of you are ever in Prague I'll buy you Mai-Tais in Taky Tiki! Thanks again............... praguelodyte I'm one of the main tropical barflies at: http://www.myspace.com/takytiki p.s. sending party photos to vamptiki today [ Edited by: praguelodyte 2007-03-18 18:13 ] |

Marlene, I am so turned on to this Tiki scene. I know you have been trying to get me into this for a long time, did not know what I was missing. Wish we could go back a couple of months and be in Kauai again and listen to our island music. Being at your party with the Tiki crowd made me home sick for the islands. Feel the breeze in you face. Being in Benicia, I feel so far away from you guys in Sacramento. Had a great time meeting everyone at the party and really getting to know the Mai Tais. |
