Anyone know the background on this place on Pico, just west of the 405 Freeway? I swear I did not go inside!....not this time. I seem to think there was something like this on Foothill Blvd. near Upland... |

Ha! Comparing this version of the sign to the one in the BOT (which page in the Mixology chapter?, I'm in Palm Springs, sans bible), gives me an idea of a "Before" and "After" series, where I photoshop a smile on the original sign... Don't go in, it is completely stripped (get the irony?) to the bare black walls. Twowheelin', tell'em about the glory of Kelbo's! |

When it first opened, the place had what it called the "Shipwreck Room", which was part of the old Kelbo's decor and some of the booths intact. The last time I went in there the Shipwreck Room was gone, and that was a good five years ago, maybe more. |

i was just in there a month or so ago , and i didnt see anything from its past. i even got escorted out of a room!.this was the killer place on the west side where i had my 21st B-day party, and stole many a wenches virtue after those drinks.when i get really homesick for kelbos, i just go to bahooka which is real close ,except the kelbos booths were separated by heavily carved on beachcomber items.i know i scrawled many a message into the wood in that place!.oh, bahookas food is better!. |
