As many of you already know, Tikibelle and I went through a divorce this past year. It was tough to go through but we're on the other side now and we've remained friends. I apologize for being so flaky over the past year and being inconsistent answering emails, etc. The divorce was taking most of my attention and thoughts for a long time. I'll try hard to make it up to you. Now that it's over, I'm looking for roommates again to share my 3-bedroom house in Carson, CA. I'll be advertising locally, and at Cal State Dominguez & Harbor College as well, but I thought I'd first offer the rooms to TC folks and their acquaintances who might better appreciate living in a classic 1950s ranch-style with a fully-functioning tiki bar and mid-century modern decor. Besides the tiki room, here are some of the other things going for it:
I've lived with both male and female roommates before and get along equally well with either. I've got a good-sized bedroom with a large closet that shares a bathroom for $600 a month, and a Master Bedroom with its own bathroom and walk-in closet available for $800 a month. If you are interested or know anyone else who may be interested, please leave me a PM and we'll talk. Your responsibilities would include helping me throw a few large tiki cocktail parties each year. Tough work, I know, but rewarding. Also, if you have any ideas of other places I should be advertising for roommates interested in a mid-century modern ranch-style house in Southern Cal, please let me know. Thanks, Sabu |

Ben already sang that one. It was a big hit a few years back. The story goes, (during the first recording, on hittng some high notes), he blew out a nut. Fortunately for his fans, subsequent recordings (and a little gentle persuasion) showed Ben was truly dedicated. This was his best work. Let's give Ben a big round of applause. I realize this post is a month old, but it brought back some great memories. I'm a California (Los Angeles, San Diego) transplant in Maine. Redondo Beach, Torrance, Carson, Gardena, Hermosa, Manhattan - and Hollywood (naturally) are all old stomping grounds. I remember the Hawaiian Bakery, isn't that on Western Ave (been here 8 years now, and some specifics escape me)? I grew up going to Tony's on the Pier with my parents. Every special occasion! It was such a gas to look at all the decor. This was all through the 60s and 70s. As a kid to me, it was reminiscent of The Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland. :) If you're having a cocktail party, I'm there! Yeah, it'd be an expensive little jaunt, but what the heck, right?? |
