Conga Mike heading to London

Pages: 1 20 replies

My lovely wife, Denise and I, are headed to Greece and will be stopping by London for a few days.
Planning to check out the Mahiki and Trailer Happiness. Maybe also South London Pacific.
We arrive on August 24th and leave on 8/29.

Any UK Ohana out there interested in meeting up?
Any "must sees" while we're there?

We hope you have a Tiki-rrifc Trip! Take lots of pics :) We'll miss you at Oasis.

We will miss you two at Tiki Oasis, but your trip sounds fantastic!! Have a great time, and don't even think about us back in the States drinking up all the rum in San Diego...

Take lots of pictures...

Aloha!!! I am so jealous...
Myke

Look forward to meeting you Conga Mike, first drinks on us.

I've found these to be some of London's greatest atttractions:

Don's Mai Tai: Trailer Happiness
Colada Nueva: Trailer Happiness
Dark & Stormy: Trailer Happiness
Ultimate Mai Tai: Mahiki
Coconut Grenade: Mahiki
Tiki Puka Puka: London Vic's
Shingle Stain: London Vic's

If you get thirsty then maybe a Baron's Brew at Mahiki or a Zombie at Trailer Happiness. I hear Vic's has food, but I did ok with pineapple wedges and mint. I'm sure you're aware of the martini service at Duke's. In a pinch some great Fish n Chips can be had on Marylebone Lane (off Marylebone St) at Golden Hinde.

The War Rooms/Churchill Museum are nice, but the cocktail selection at the museum cafe is, well, non-existent.

Mind the gap!
midnite

PS Bring me back a Mai Tai from Kona Kai.

Advice from the Travel Meister himself. Thanks Midnite!
Dark & Stormy - one of my favs...I'll send a cheer your way.

Don't think we'll make it to Vics this time. Spent quite a bit of time there last trip.
But one things for sure. Our last night in Athens will be at the Kona Kai!!

Is this a UK tiki get together?

P

Heck.
Further... Heckoeeno!

I will miss you by about 24 hours.
I was to fly to Paris but couldn't get anything that wouldn't cost me a month's salary.
Damn that Air France.

So I got the ticket through London from Johanesburg on the 28th and had to get onto Miami or wait for several more days which, given the dollar these days, I couldn't really justify.

Have a great time. Wish I could have been there to buy you and Denise a Diver's Helmet or whatever that cool-looking thing is called at Mahiki.

One piece of advice. Do not trust Kon Hemsby- I think he's an absinthe pusher.

Any chance of something like this happening?
We don't get to London too often and it would be great to share some cheers together.
Interested to get the UK perspective and share some Oaktown thoughts.
Mahiki?

We all had a great time getting to know each other and getting tipsy. Visited The British Museum (group shot by Hoa Hakananai'a), The French House, Busaba Thai food, Mahiki and Trader Vic's until turning out time ... only to see David Guest being refused entry to TVs and TWO (yes, two) £330,000 Mercedes McLarens parked outside.

Pics to come soon!
