As a long time collector and I am saying this from years of experience...an item is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay! With that said, this is back on you...are they worth $26.00 to you? PTD |

I think that's a little high. I had 2 sets of those and I sold one set on Ebay for $12 so you could probably do better on the price. BUT, if it's something you really want and have been looking for then go for it! Not sure of the age. |

Don't get wrapped up in whether someone out there got the same item for a lower cost. Unless you're a merchant, that crap shouldn't worry you. Tiki collecting should be a fun, worry-free experience. That said, I picked up a TV's salt and pepper set for $5 at an antique mall. I think that was probably a pretty good deal, based on the prices I've seen on eBay ($10-15). But I've also overpaid for a lot of my collection and it really doesn't bother me at all. It's not about finding great deals - it's about finding and acquiring cool stuff. Come to think of it, this hobby is pretty superficial. Oh well. |

Seriously, I have so many pairs I give them away (did you win the pair in my raffle, Unkle John?). And I'm not one of those lucky-ass Californians who see 25+ garage sales per week where everything tiki is $1 or less! I'd be happy to give you a pair if/when we meet! Bottom line: they are not quite as common as dirt/Leilanis. But they ain't rare or worth $26. OK, the BOTTOM bottom line: you'll pay too much for some stuff and make FABulous scores on others (a $20 fishing float here but a perfect $7.99 Tretchikoff there). It evens out in the long run!! |
