Kon Tiki Model Boat Kit

First one I've found in these parts... is at an antique shop. Appears untouched inside the box, the box itself is in very good shape, just a couple of short ink marks on it. They want $52. I know some of you have found this item. Is $52 too much? What do YOU think?

It all depends on how badly you want it. I know I've spent too much $$$ on things that I really like, but I've had no regrets on those purchases.
