....Specifically Aloha Wear (new retro designs and redesigned vintage Aloha Wear) that will fit larger sizes. Do the wahine in the TC Ohana have/need a source? Mahalo in advance! ~T [ Edited by: Haole'akamai 2008-09-03 23:39 ] |

I would love to find some Tiki dresses or shirts for larger gals. They wouldn't even have to be retro style...something simple but with a Tiki or tropical print would be great. Some day I hope to size down so I can slip into one of those Whirlingturban dresses...those are awesome. Thank goodness leis are one-size-fits-all. |

Yeah, I've been wondering what's up with the vintage dresses. Did the women in the 50's really have NO waist, or is it just that the larger sizes sell out faster? Much of what I find is too small in that area, and I ain't a big girl! Does anyone find cool fabric and have the sewing prowess/vintage patterns to make their own? |

Well, one of the main difficulties is vintage clothes are made to be worn with vintage "foundation" garment. You wear the bra, girdle, waistcincher and the dress "falls right in place". [ Edited by: Haole'akamai 2008-09-18 09:24 ] |

I've got contacts at some of greatest Aloha Wear companies of all time. I believe I could present you with available body styles and patterns then get dresses made just for you at off-the-rack prices. I already do this for guys as often as possible. Any interest? |
