Bamboo can help a great deal, if used in concert with many other approaches to sustainability, recycling, reuse. What will help the most tho is the population ceasing to grow. |

I think bamboo has a role in saving the planet if it's used in locally produced original work (artistic, decorative, or functional). Whether it has bamboo content or not you should try to buy as much original, "locally made" stuff as possible cuz I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that buying mass produced imported Tiki products...Even "limited edition" stuff...Is like clubbing to death a gray whale with the frozen carcass of a baby fur seal. And speaking of cute things and killing the planet let us not overlook the evil that dogs do. (This message was edited by woofmutt when he realized he'd written "linmited edition" instead of "limited edition" and he didn't want to start a crisis of purpose and meaning among collectors when they realized they didn't have any "linmited edition" pieces and didn't know where they could get any.)
