HAPPY NEW YEAR!~

I’m happy to announce here on TC the upcoming release of my debut Exotica CD. For all the artists, musicians and friends who have heard about this and have listened to the demos, thank you for your support and positive feedback. It’s greatly appreciated.

All further info, musicians bio, etc. can be found at myspace.com/tikijoesocean. There you will be able to hear three demos made in preparation for the CD. The songs are (as demos go) unfinished, unmixed, unpolished and bare bones- just enough to give you a peek into what’s being done in anticipation of the release. Your feedback and friend requests are both truly welcome and appreciated.

A portion of the CD sales will be going to SURFRIDER FOUNDATION & the CARL WILSON FOUNDATION.

More information about the project will be released as the months roll along. I hope you all enjoy the demos for now and I ultimately look forward to bringing to you some hypnotic, mellow, upbeat, moody & fun Exotica to help complete your Summer ’09 scene.

I totally dig'em!

Stoic Moai reminds me a lot of Nobuo Uematsu's work from the Final Fantasy gaming series (from '87 till now). Seriously, the composing is gorgeous especially when it kicks in with that eerie kinda vibe, which I love. I wanna hear more of this song!

Baxter Pad & Kihei Keiki also has that reminiscent sound of Uematsu and mix of someone else I can't quite put my finger on right now, but otherwise really beautiful!

Have you heard of Uematsu? I think you'd really dig his work! You should definitely hear him out Nobuo Uematsu special.

Hi again everyone~

I'm stoked to have just added two BRAND NEW demos to the myspace site, entitled "WAIKIKI PURSUIT" and "GREY JUNGLE REIGN." They are as yin & yang as frantic & mellow. All the better to give you a glimpse as to what you'll hear in the final CD. Something for everyone, for sure.

PRE-ORDERING!--- We plan on having a pre-ordering system up by the time the official TIKI JOE'S OCEAN website is working, hopefully sometime in May.

Checked out the new Demos and they sound SUPERB. Really dig what I could hear of "Waikiki Pursuit", and "Grey Jungle Reign" promises to be very intriguing new work in the genre. Gotta have both, and am very much looking forward to hearing ALL of your very sly "Baxter Pad"...

I will have trouble waiting for July -- but know my Tiki Hut will be humming with some great new Exotica by August.

My wife and I needed a little more breathing room to anticipate the arrival of our second child in the 3rd week in July, so on June 27th

CD arrived here in Portlandia today (Friday the 26th), and I used it to christen the new outside sound system on the Aloha Deck. Aaaahhhh...sipping Pi Yi drinks in hollowed-out pineapples with the sound of Tiki Joe's Ocean floating through the air. Doesn't get much better. :drink:
