I don't think I have ever posted here as I don't typically create anything tiki. I did find this paddle at a marine salvage place in Miami a few years ago and had the idea of painting it like the one on the front cover of the book Oceanic Art. That's the book that apparently helped to inspire Bob and Leroy at Oceanic Arts. Anyway, here is my creation...

Very nice paddle but I'm afraid I have no idea what a "Hawaiian thing-a-ma-jig-hula-do-dad" is. :-?

Always loved that Solomon Island paddle motif!
Bravo for havin the gumption
to translate it on that paddle.
it looks great on the wall!

Ha! A tourist at Disney World actually said that to me about a Benzart tiki I was wearing. I thought it was hilarious, so I use it as a signature line.

Hey, I thought it was from the Cook Islands. Solomons? Oh well, I dig the design as well.
