Help with estimating value of my tiki

I am new to these forums though I have lurked off and on for a while. My mother was from Hawaii and I grew up with a fair amount of Hawaiian and tiki items in our home. I was wondering if you all could help me estimate the value of a large tiki that I own and that I would like to sell. I have very little idea of what something like this is worth. Please forgive me if I should be posting my question elsewhere. This tiki has been in the family since sometime in the 1970s. I believe it was won in a radio contest (KFRC or KYA, I think). It stands about 7.5-foot tall and I'd guess that the wood is Hawaiian though I don't know what it is exactly. On any unique piece, such as this, the only good way to find out what it's true worth, is to put it up for auction. With the headdress, it is definitely a stylized version of Lono, and it does look like it is made of koa from your pics. From the sort of comical look to the mouth, It does look like it is from the 70s. Looks like it was carved very well. No name on it anywhere - not even on the bottom of his feet?

It's probably worth what you're asking. Conservatively, at auction, I would say this would go anywhere from $400 - $1000. On a good day, perhaps as much as $1500. And if the right buyer were in the audience, maybe $2000. :lol: :lol:
