I did some more research on this place. It is no longer there. I found this bit of information on the web:

"In the late 1980s a Winston-Salem location on Knollwood Drive exploded due to a gas leak. The blast occurred while the location was closed so no one was injured."

And as for what was built in its place? Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Headquarters.

You know what's wierd about this? The Sheraton hotel chain had the Kon Tiki restaurants and the Marriott Hotels had the Kona Kai restaurants. What's a Kona Kai lounge doing at a Sheraton hotel?
