Never been a fan of stupidity and pretend machoism - guess I won't be watching THIS particular group of Guidos!

"Never been a fan of stupidity and pretend machoism..." -beadtiki-

I am. That's why I hang around Tiki Central.

Badda Boom, Badda Bing!

This thread made me laugh as we have always referred to my brother as "Guido", (because in the 70's he somewhat resembled a cross between Ralph Macchio and Tony Danza......!)

That's what we called my hubby after he got his hair permed (back in the early 80's when it was "macho" for men to perm their hair) - we also called him Carlos Spermonti - his name is Carl - don't know who came up with the Spermonti part though (only have 1 child LOL).

Some more funny Guido action!

and if you think a lot of that was photoshopped:

hung with them nye in times square

all super nice - They hadn't gotten loaded yet! - should be an interesting few months comin up!

TM

I actually like Guidos. I have a somewhat similar ethnic background myself (southern european) and any of these people look like some of my cousins over there....minus the hair gel, of course! Plus, I too have a last name that ends in a vowel!

TM

But then again, here is the picture that started it all...

And a subset......Orange guidos!

B

NObody looks like that on purpose! What's WITH those Oompa-Loompa Guidos?!

TM

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! OMG! That was HYSTERICAL! I started watching the Guido hair styling video and I'm wondering what the secret ingredient is for getting ones hair to stand up like that! I've got THE flattest hair in the world and, well, a little Guido Goo might help! Oh, I mean, um, oh, nevermind!

TM

Yeah! You called it!

And here are some vintage guidos:

This stuff is nuts.

They have their own dance too.

I figured this was just an East Coast thing until I saw some photos of local high school's holiday dance.
I am afraid, very afraid.

and I swear, this character was exactly like my roomate in the Army. Guy's name was Ritchie, he only wore wifebeater shirts with lots of gold chains, and could not talk to you without hitting you at the same time!

I admit it. I am obsessed over it.

I can't relate to this. In LA, Italians (if there are any) are just plain ole "white folk".

We do have Cholo-style however. Plus our Mexican "Guidos" might be packin' so be careful if you decide to mock them. :(

TM

I spent some time in NYC, and a few of my closest friends in the Army were total guids.....good times, and very funny guys!
