Since the statues are cement and will be placed outside he used an outdoor house paint as the base. The glaze is a clear that you have to tint with color. They actually look better that the real carving (in a way - the real wood carving is still much nicer). The patina adds a lot!

very cool stuff!! lu the barrel o rum!! cheers!

B

Will, Awesome looking carvings, you are Really getting the Highest quality finish around.
Also the work you are doing on the Mai-Kai pieces is Excellent and Very Commendable!
You guys need to come up again soon.

W

I just listen to what you tell me,
& follow thru.
Heres the other side of that tree.

T

Sweet. Love the spiral at the bottom.

The palm is soooo smooth!

B

They work good.

Plugger, My granny gave me that. She was my biggest fan.

Seeks my yard looks like a cemetery with all the cement statues.

Grog thanks for stopping by.
I live for the day you give me the finger. That would mean a lot
to me.

The latest:

B

WOW, this modern Tang is top shelf ! What kind of wood is that ?

Benjamin.

B

GROG happy to oblige.

This guy has so much caricature.

Great carve!

So how does one acquire one of these?

T

Love the art

GROG AWESOME..

W

Ben, finished up that Tang & got an other one cooking.
Thanks Jimmy.
Grog, You know haw to make a guys day. I have arrived.
Tmec, You needed to move closer to pick up one of the
spirit hook guys. they are 200 lbs. Hard to ship.
Tgods, I can always use an other finger, thanks.

Both of the Tangs are practice for a log my bud gave me.
It's Florida oak & it's 2 ft tall & 18 in wide.
The first one I screwed up by putting the hands on the
outside of the legs, and ran out of room for the legs.
He's 10 in tall & would make a good lamp.
They are both mango wood.
The 2nd one is OK so far. I may start the big log next.

W

Thank you Benjamin.
Jarome, hope I can carve like you some day.
I wanted to share,

Where I've been.

Where I'm at

And where I'm going

This chunk of fla. oak is a monster.

Yeah that oak looks tuff. I like the short round guys. Nice job.

B

Lookin' Great Willie, Glad to see you have been busy. I Love how NO One can come Close to your perfect finish when you decide to do that. Awesome stuff!

Your Tang is missing his wang.

W

He has a dick-do.
His belly sticks out further than his dick do.

Tour stuff is mind blowingly amazing ! I love to watch your updates.

Mahalo,

Benjamin.

I have been watching his progress and adding my 2 cents here and there, but Will has this well in hand. That log is a monster! It easily weighed over 100lbs. when he started. I support Grog's assessment that the Tang needs a Wang - the "dick-do" excuse doesn't hold water (get it?)!

Beautiful work on the Tangs, Plugger. But we would expect nothing less based
on all of your previous carving and restoration efforts. Those "spirit hook"
figures from the Mai Kai are really cool....I suppose we all want one of those :)

BUMP - ready for an update! Your big guy is looking really good.

S

Nice nice nice. Love the wood color and stain choice.

W

Wow ,
It's way too cold to carve !
No up dates till we warm up.
The 2 smaller tangs are mango & are natural with rub polly & the pic doesn't really show the colors in the wood. The big guy, fl. oak, will be rub polly also & looks like marble when sanded clear.
Thanks for the comments.

B

What?? TOO Cold in Florida??
We've been in the 30's and 40's up here in Port St Lucie and I can't even get into my garage/shop.
Will, when you and Tom coming up?
