I wonder what the line "Seen by millions of T.V. viewers weekly, as worn by the romantic sea captain" means...the only 1960s show that comes to mind where there was a sea captain is Gilligan's island...and the Skipper wasn't romantic and didn't wear a Tiki. Any ideas?

The address reminds me of those salsa commercials:

*"Says here these Tiki Gods are from New York City..."

'NEW YORK CITY!?!?!?"*

Perhaps Seahunt with Lloyd Bridges "this was a bad week to quit Tiki"

My guess is Adventures in Paradise.

Ha, I was sure I had referred to that fact when I put that ad in the Surfing chapter of the Book of Tiki...but I didn't have the room, I guess!
Most definitely referring to Gardner McKay. The copy reads so funny because they obviously were avoiding to name the actor or the show for rights issues. You can see his Tiki talisman here, it is much nicer than those dime store Tikis :D :

I am so certain about this because a friend of mine, who started collecting Tiki as early as the 80s, expressively named the fact that he watched that show as a teenager and thought McKay and his amulet were so cool as his formative motivation to start collecting. I am sure Hawaiian Eye's Tiki had an equally hypnotic effect. There you have it: TV fosters paganism!

Well there you go. I was 12 when the last episode aired on TV. The boat was also named "Tiki". Good site for the show:
