If you are in Houston, (living here or visiting), mark March 14th for Houston Mod's mod of the month. Houston Mod picks a really good mod style house and sponsors an open house to try to help attract a sympathetic buyer. There will be several homes open in Glenbrook Valley, including some "unspoiled" super deluxe ranches, a couple of full throttle mid-century moderns, including this fully restored one:

Oh and how do you feel about lava rock accents? A little teaser on a swanky asian style one with flagstone floors in the living areas. This one is scheduled to be on the open house parade as well.

is there a web site for this?

yea website I would like to see more pictures please

They are not up on the website yet. It will be closer to the 14th. They are still being worked on & these divas are not ready for their close up just yet. I do have a couple of additional pics:

There is a very cool room divider in this one. The floors are flagstone. The original grasscloth was in bad shape and they pulled it out and just painted. It looked a lot swankier with the grasscloth, but someone can put that back in.

The mod of the month open houses are this weekend, Sunday 2 to 4. The Asian number "fell off" because the owner decided not to sell.

Houston Mod is sponsoring this event. The mod of the month program recently won an award from the Greater Houston Preservation Alliance. It is designed to raise awareness of Houston's modern legacy and to help match sympathetic buyers with the homes so they can be saved.
