FIRST EVER RUM TASTING Join Silverlake Wine at Three Clubs on Wed. March 24th at 7pm for our first ever Rum Tasting. This is a great opportunity to learn about how rum is made, the history of rum drinks and to taste six different rums, plus two rum cocktails. The cost of the tasting is $35, cash only, at the door. Actually, Silverlake Wine has a pretty great rum selection. It's where I go when I need Coruba and St. James, and they have a rotating selection of small-batch rarer stuff as well. I would expect that this is a serious rum tasting. |

Dang, I had no idea that such a rum depot exists right down the hill from me! (Though the pic they're showing does not seem to show many). I have driven by that place 100 times, but never looked inside. Being a wine non-connoisseur I am usually happy with my Trader Joe's two buck chuck. Kinda ironic that it was the wine fad in the 70s that contributed to killing Polynesian cocktails, and now wine stores are bringing rum back. |
