I just listened to it while cruising down PCH from Camario to Santa Monica
after Bongofury's party

so beautiful.
achingly so.

they did one performance that I know of.
it was at a surf shop in Laguna Beach,
and Max and Marc of the Blue Hawaiians played drums and Bass for them.
they did a mix of Half Vanduras songs, and Half Blue Hawaiians songs.

it was ok, but kinda tight in the small shop.
not the most ideal place to play.
and then lots of traffic noise too.
;-/

Gary and his Son are working on a New Vanduras cd.

and for those who don't know.
Gary(the lap steel player)
is also in the Tikiyaki Orchestera, and sat in on some songs for the new Hula Girls cd(rockabilly meets Hawaiian music)

I have the cd & yes, it's also one of my favorites of all time I make DJ Marty Lush play 3 cuts of it every Sunday at the HuT. The Cd is really dreamy, haunting you might say and it's fun, "Rope'n Pineapples" you have heard cause Gary performs it with the Tikiyaki Orch. ( ok, so that was a plug) GREAT CD " In the dark"

Nice! More desert than surf - reminds me of Friends of Dean Martinez.

"Atomic" is so good, wish it went for more then 1:30.

Gary gave me a copy when we were playing a show together. It's REALLY good... Haunting and eclectic at times... Amazing playing on the album. Killer artwork too!
