I've been working on a Maori pole, for a while. It's been soooo much work, I had no idea. I already revised the design about 20 times and i'm still not fully satisfied with the results but i'm getting there. It's about 5.5' tall.

Thanks for all the good words. I've actually work a bit on it this week and start seeing better results with the body shape. It's finally going closer to where i want it to go. I'll post some progress picts next week. And yes I'm definitively going to work on a Moko and some tats when the main carving is done.

Hey thanks, yes they still handout free T-shirt for these events as long as you participate.

Here is a what the Hachdays are:
Hack Day is a one-day (24 hour) event where all Yahoos are invited (called upon!) to put on their hacking hats (regardless of your day to day role) and build something that you want. Afterwards, we drink beer and watch our fellow hackers present the awesome things they've done.

It's always a fun event and it's really cool to see what ideas people come up with.

Thanks dude, funny you're saying that, I have another log of the same size and was thinking of doing a Tahitian tiki with the same kind of proportion so I can prop them on both side of my door just like guardians, you know Tiki bar entrance type.

Dude, I wish, I've been consumed with life stuff and haven't done anything on the maori for at least 4 month... what a shame, hopefully I'll get back there.
