That looks like some hard wood on your tikis. What type are you using on them? You did a great job on all of the carves but I think the sanding and finish really show them off

@GP, the moaï is in Elm wood, and the one under in cherry wood

@tikigodz, these woods are very nice to carve especially cherrywood, elm is a bit harder
@Creative Chimp, this is my restaurant in la rochelle called "La caisse à jus", maybe in the futur i'll make a tiki bar/food
@Tikilizard, it was very difficult to carve, this piece of driftwood is like a sponge, i used a cutter blade to do it

Shrunken,

Your work is awesome, but particularly that last one, it looks so authentic that it could be put right in a forest in Hawai'i and be mistaken for an ancient relic...

Aloha,

Paul

I've said this before and I'll say it again (and I mean this in the most respectful, complimentary way)...

WHAT IN THE HELL IS GOING ON OVER THERE IN FRANCE???? I mean seriously...there are a few of you guys over there whose work is just off the charts.

I swear, if tiki carving were an Olympic sport, the French could win....
