Hey guys just wanted to share my newest design with you all....

You can find out more about the design by going here:

http://disneydesignerland.blogspot.com/2011/05/retro-71_22.html

If I get enough people interested I'm going to make a limited edition run. Thought maybe you guys would enjoy it?!?!
Be sure to let me know your thoughts in my comments section.

Cool design! I'd take one.

K

I want one! Will you make them in women's sizes, too?

Very tastefully done in a vintage look - with some humor mixed in. As a Tiki archeologist, my initial reaction was "...but that's the Kon Tiki logo!" and I like to keep things authentic. But I also realize your copyright problems with Adventureland. I have always loved this specific Tiki, and I like that it's in front, not on the back, and BIG. I'd take one...in XXL, that is.

Here is an original patch from the Waikiki location:

Tobor, maybe you should lay off the viagra, and then you won't have to worry about your throng growing at times it might be embarrassing.

M

Grog right! Grog know throngs....lol

L

Cute! I'm in if you make a run...size large please.

Very enteresting about the tiki icon. Its actually stock art anyone can purchase from a popular retro site. So either the site stold their logo or they purchased the same illustration to use for their branding. Copyrights have experation dates on them remember so if this is an original logo but the owners didnt extend the rights it becomes public so maybe thats how the stock site ended up with it. Either way i changed it up and made it my own by turning the frown upside down and placing the whip in its hands. General design rule is to change it up and alter it! Also seeing how nothing says disney on it adventureland is okay to use on a shirt seeing how theres a movie named adventureland and so on....disney should of copyrighted the land names back in the day but they didn't

Looking forward to sending it!

Excellent!
A Dole Whip is a prerequisite to every Disneyland visit.
I bet they're pissed they didn't think of the shirt.

K

Just placed my order! Can't wait to eat a Dole Whip in the Enchanted Gardens while sporting my spiffy shirt!

M

Works now! nice shirt!

So, I'm just wondering, does this product have anything to do with Disney as a licensed product? or Dole, DoleWhip?

The name "Adventureland" is not trademarked. And there is no mention of dole whip or dole products on the shirt either. So it should be all legit under fair use.

Found this update on the t-shirts today:

hint:
... search the blog for tiki and you may find a nice surprise.

C

Would love if you did another run of these shirts!!!! I missed out

S

me too!

R

Got my shirt in the mail today.

Looks great, can't wait to give it a wash and try it on.

And definitely can't wait to wear it on my next trip to the happiest place on earth.

Thanks,

-Rawim

I was so looking forward to getting this shirt and it came today....sadly who ever made this a xxl needs to resize their shirts.
Its at least 3" narrower in the armpits than my other XXL tshirts it fits me my wife's larges do.

Love the shirts! Just got ours in the mail, today. XL is nice and big for my hubby,
and the men's M is just perfect for me.
I wore it all day, today, and got compliments all day long. One girl actually stopped me and told me that her boyfriend wanted the shirt, and was so bummed that he was too late on ordering it. I'm sure that if you make a second run of these shirts, you will have plenty of buyers! It's a tiki-fab shirt, and I love it!

AnitaMargarita

cool I want one!!!!!

J

If, by some miracle, there is ever a 2nd run, let us know!

C

I was at Disneyland 2 weeks ago and saw they are selling Dole Whip shirts now. I planned on getting one in downtown Disney on my way out but of course that store was sold out and I didn't have time to run back into the park. Their shirts look like this:

Alas no tiki so I would love one of the ones that was offered here!

M

Are you going to start making these again?
