From: http://www.london-fire.gov.uk The Brigade was called at 1842 and the fire was under control at 2301. Fire engines from Soho, Knightsbridge, Chelsea, Kensington and Westminster attended. The basement is home to Trader Vic's. Trying to find out more. |

We visited there in '09 on our UK tiki tour, I sure hope nothing was damaged. I remember the service was crap and one pour we suffered through was all wash. We walked down to Mahiki which was better until 11 when the basement turned into a hip hop dance club. South London Pacific was still my favorite. |

Guest are being allowed back. 1,500 evacuated; no injuries and all accounted for. None of the news articles that I have found have mentioned Trader Vic's yet. |

I've sometimes found myself wondering whether TV's was affected by the Park Lane Hilton bombing in 1975, after all, it was in the lobby immediately above: http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/september/5/newsid_2499000/2499203.stm |

If I remember correctly, didn't Trader Vic's Dallas also state they were closing for "minor repair work" - and never opened again? |
