Thanks!!! Love to see new Smith & Cross Recipes, and a use for Black Strap besides a Corn & Oil. Now, what is garam masala?

It's an Indian all-spice of sorts. If you've been to an Indian restaurant, you've had garam masala.
A syrup with it sounds really, really intriguing.

BK says you can find the bitters for the Ghost Ship at Whole Foods. These particular bitters are unlike others. Note the amount in the recipe. If you subbed another and used that amount, you'd be ill!

*Michele “Humu Humu” Trott's Agrabana Grog: 1 1/4 ounces Cruzan white rum, 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice, and 3/4 ounce each Appleton V/X rum, grapefruit juice, and garam masala syrup (premixed by adding 2 teaspoons garam masala to a 2:1 simple syrup; let steep, and shake before using). Shake everything with ice, pour into a tall glass, top with 3/4 ounce club soda, and garnish with a mint sprig. *

I like garam masala, I'll have to try this out.
