Can anyone tell me what country this carving is from?

When folks know you collect, carvings and other stuff like this fall into your lap whether or not your know what they are. Is this piece an African idol, a Cost Plus piece or from somewhere in the Pacific? Thanks for any help you can give me.

My guess is tourist trade Filipino Ifugao Bullul figure.

What a great website, with so many images of such a variety of interesting carvings! I would have to agree with the Filipino origin. The "Crouching Figure" concept has been employed in American Tiki sometimes, here at the Shelter Isle apartments pool hut:

Since Guanko and Bumatay were both Filipino, they might have introduced the concept.

Or it could have been based on PNG Korvar figures:

In any case, though not Tiki, this figure nicely fits into any Tiki lounge as tribal Oceanic art from exotic ports of call.
