Hyperironic kitsch seems to have a lot of popularity at the moment, especially religious iconography. Urban Outfitters, and other stores that cater to younger consumers have devoted a large portion of their stores to this stuff. BTW, welcome to the forum. I just got a Jesus action figure as a wedding gift. It was the first one I opened too, so i got a little a-feared at what else were in the pretty boxes! But everythig else was of the more traditional wedding gift variety. |
