Flaming Coffee Grog advice

I have watched the experts at the Mai Kai with the flaming deserts they pour. They have a special pitcher just for that task. I have a large mug I was wanting to use. Basically, pour the flaming part from the large mug to another large mug. Is that going to work? How hot and out of hand is this? I have learned just how hot and how long 151 burns...
