Nick Camara and I are very excited to introduce "The Islander", the first ever, Tiki inspired superhero. His two-page origin story will be appearing in the upcoming Spring 2013 issue of Tiki Magazine.

We will be at the International Tiki Marketplace on April 6th from 11 - 4pm, selling 11x14", signed and numbered prints of "The Islander" and of course the aforementioned issue of Tiki Magazine. I'm driving down from Portland, OR and looking forward to checking out my first Marketplace.

Any chance you might be selling the signed and numbered prints online?

That can be the subject of a whole cartoon!
The Islander gets tattoos as a reward for saving a tribe. Or something.

Yes, that will definitely be happening. As soon as we're set up, there will be a post.

With the name The Islander, it would be cool if he LOOKED like an Islander, and not a white guy.

So "The Islander" is Jewish? well let me wish you a safe "Lag BaOmer" this April
and that would also explain the fake boobs on the "The Islander's" lady friend.

You sorta touched on a future storyline.

Hate to burst your bubble but Tiki Torch from Justice Friends first appeared in 1996 in Cartoon Network's Dexter's Laboratory is a Tiki Superhero. Pictures below:

I have been following this thread and just went to go look at the earlier photos which were posted so that I could compare them. But the photos are not coming up for me.

That was great John-O! Only on TC can one find the most obscure tiki references. Lovin it! - no McLoving it!

I've been away for a while, clearly...
But I've found that people who say, "Hate to burst your bubble" actually LOVE bursting bubbles. Thanks for the reference though, creativenative. :D
