I use some small hand tools for carving and Bass wood. The actual figure is about 5 inches tall. I've only been carving for about three months, what do you think? I turned out a few of these things for a New Year's Eve party. This one is the best, and it has been stained (it was real dark, but the wood absorbes the stain like crazy!) http://www.shutterfly.com/osi.jsp?i=67b0de21b34356954598¬ag=1 I'm not sure about how to put the photo up, so there's the link. Thanks. I'm thinking about making some and offering them for trades for tiki mugs or other tiki things. I'm not expecting some rare 1950's mug for them or anything, but maybe someone out there has an extra mug that they'd be willing to trade for a 5 inch by 2inch tiki man to sit on their shelf. I'm thinking about leaving them unstained because it's quicker for me and whoever trades with me can stain (or god forbid paint) it to suite themselves. Anyone interested? |

Oh yeah, I've decided to call them KenTiky's in honor of my home state. (Not like there is anything else tiki in Kentucky). |
